Pop Up #2 with Chef Trevor Ball

What an incredible evening of food, fun and friends at our second Pop-Up Restaurant.

For those of you that were unable to join us, you missed a wonderful evening at our second Pop-Up Restaurant with Chef Trevor Ball!  You may not be familiar with Trevor, but he has been a long-time friend of Hugs Cafe dating back nearly 10 years.

Trevor is a 19th-generation Chef and the son of Elke Marsh of Elke’s Market Cafe, one of our most significant benefactors.  You may also know his grandfather, Karl Kuby, of the famous Kuby’s Sausage House in Dallas.  History aside, the majority of you likely know Trevor from his most recent appearances on the Food Network on both Guy’s Grocery Games and Cutthroat Kitchen where he has earned recognition as a promising future star in the cooking world.

Generations of family recipes and years in the kitchen served as the inspiration for the truly spectacular menu he put together for the evening including Lavender Lemonade, Cucumber & Hearts of Palm with Chili Sauce, Golden Beet with Mozzarella Balls and Basil, Blood Oranges with Cherrywood Smoked Sea Salt and Fresh Mint, Mixed Kale & Heirloom Tomato Salad with Avocado Lemon Dressing, Herb Roasted Beef Tenderloin with Texas Chimichurri Sauce and Agave Carrots, and a German Almond Point Cake with Berry Compote, Whipped Cream and Orange Zest. Delicious doesn’t even begin to describe the meal.

As vital as Chef Trevor was to the evening, nothing is more important to us than the people eating the meal.

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us on Saturday evening!  Your support and donations are crucial to Hugs Cafe and are the key to the guaranteed success of the restaurant.  Without you and your support, we will never open our doors.  Without you, we will never be able to train these wonderful people.  Without you, we will never be able to fill the minds and hearts of the city of McKinney and Dallas/Ft. Worth at large.

Simply said; without you, there is no Hugs Cafe.

We cannot say it enough; thank you!  Thank you for your passion for our vision and your continued support of our mission.  Thank you for everything you do. God Bless!

Have you had your Hugs today?
